Yeah, the reverberation of that thing is very noticeable as Mark is describing it. Every time he turns the tri-cone body up towards his voice the echo can be heard. Listen around the 2:04 point as well.

The bodies for these guitars were made by a company owned & run by Adolph Rickenbacker. George Beauchamp was later one of the founders of what became the Rickenbacker guitar company. After WWII National morphed into Valco, the "L" standing for Louis Dopyera, brother of John. Also: Dobro = DOpyera BROthers.

msspi764 correct, author/writer I think is unknown. But McDowell's 1965 slide version inspired the Stones version which brought this song mainstream.

i forget how many styles they had. but i always loved the engraved ones…and its even a tricone. so rare, so valuable, soooooo good sounding. listen to how balanced it is! just talking will get those cones moving. i know all resonators resonate, but they don't ring like that anymore. sooo clean, the tricones are just something else. they are far too expensive for me to ever invest in one, i'd probably never play it enough anyway, you have to be a resonator guy. i just appreciate them.

The thing that makes these great for slide is the early ones, the neck is flat. No radius at all. That means you can play, or deaden, any strings you want across the whole neck. Amazing sounds you can get from that. They pretty much only do radiused necks now on the round necks.

JJ's Reversals Good idea lol. Maybe if I get some of that Atlanta bud. I was cleaning it. The freaking thing was 18.5 inches and had 3 honeycomb percs. I was standing over my bathtub shaking it with the rubbing alcohol and salt solution. It slipped out of my hand from probably like 5 feet. It hit that porcelain bathtub and it shattered. It pissed me off so badly. I thought to myself that it wasn't even worth it. Atlanta has some crazy good stuff. When I can get it I prefer Blue Dream. It's a sativa dominant hybrid that helps with my depression and anxiety without a sedative side effect. If I'm having bad insomnia troubles I take a hit of Gorilla Glue #4. That shit is so potent it usually puts me to sleep before I can even get the munchies. If I want to show off I'll bring out the Grandaddy Purple. I shouldn't be that torn up about it. I haven't consumed cannabis in close to 2 months. I was cleaning it to shelf it. I'm probably not going to smoke again. I've found good "legal" treatments that have been effective so it's not a necessity anymore. I don't like the feeling of just getting stoned. Cannabis helped make things better for me when other medicine wasn't available. Now that I have it there's no point in risking getting arrested or something. I broke it a while back.
