Uniformly superb cars were made by Packard from the earliest years at least up to 1938. 👌💯

A lasting example of fine American engineering at it's best! I always thought one of the reasons they are no longer in business is because they were built to good. I know they were expensive but even back then you got what you paid for. Very nice! Thanks

They built good but too little series to benefit and improve design enough every year in 50s when individual bodies remained in the past 😢

You ought to take a look at the documentary TV series; Abandoned or Mysterious Places". One of the episodes details the abandoned Packard car factory.

@@williamphillips6049 yeah I actually live about 45 miles from the factory. I've been by it a few times in my life. It's mostly gone if not completely demolished now. There has been a big push in the last couple of years to get the site cleaned up. Even in it's terrible state you could see that it once was an incredible place in its day

Beautiful machine, I’d take that over a Duesenburg any day. Hell, you could take that thing on a long trip with no problems providing it was tuned, good weather of course. Very nice.

Sounds like the rods are getting loose. Drop the pan and remove a couple of the caps. I owned a 626 50 years ago. Babbit rods, shims were removed. Nobody did babbit work to re do the rods so I got rid of it.
