She is being very accurate of the Puerto Rican experience during that time period in America. Most Puerto Rican men and women were forced to work in the harshest environments and earning the lowest pay. Good job Angelica♥️

The time was the 1930's, great depression made everyone desperate for food and jobs even for horrible pay, not saying that minorities weren't getting the shit end of the stick but this was generally the life for most Americans in the times.

I understand the impulse, but when someone mentions that darker skinned people are oppressed, commenters water down the statement by reminding us that other people had it bad too. You're right;they did suffer during this time period, and it was awful, but that wasn't the focus of the post and it can give the impression that the suffering of the darker skinned people group in question isn't a big deal with lasting consequences
@gaiuslaenas32636 жыл бұрын
Can really make anything about race, huh? There were 55,000 Puerto Ricans in America in the 1930s, do you have an objective source that their experience was uniquely bad in the Great Depression?

You should do a roleplay of someone on the St. Lucas (I believe that was the ship that was trying to get into Cuba during WW2?) Complaining to us about how we're not able to get off yet, or perhaps one of the doctors doing health checks. Edit: This is just a recommendation though, and I thought you would out your own twist on this with your comedy in such dark times. I hope to see more decade roleplays in the future!
