The changer mechanism is from 1932 and later, but the particular model is actually postwar construction, produced between 1946 and 1949. It was basically a "recycling" of older spare parts after the end of the war. A total of 302 units were produced; it was one of the most expensive models ever produced by Nipppn Columbia during the 78 days and it was mostly sold to big dance halls, cafes, and other commercial establishments.

Very cool! Seems kinda rough the way it flips the next-to-be-played record on the right hand side, from leaning right, to leaning left, by pinching the edge. . . sounds like that last one being played got cracked; probably best for playing laminated Columbias. . . Very cool to see in action, thanks for the vid!

Beautiful machine ever made. Was a luxury not many people can afford it doing the depression 1930s era when stock market when dropped.
