How British is this... The elderly Lady who lived near us in rural Scotland had a Nash that she had raced back in the 30's and 40's then used for hill climbs etc faded green still with the number circles on the sides one front on the bonnet/hood the other on the opposite side rear. This was in the mid 70's and when I used the term lady, I really mean Lady, she also had her Rolls Royce expedition vehicle she and her husband drove from Shanghai back to the UK for their honeymoon in the 1930's. She had a small stable of "memory" cars as well as a Healey 3000 she'd raced in the 60's! As a young lad I used to help around her house in return for getting to drive one of her children's old hand built or rather crafted ⅓rd? Sized cars MGTF type and an off road 1930's type made from a cut up Austin 7 or similar if I remember correctly on the extensive grounds...happy memories. Thanks for keeping one of these great little cars where it belongs...on show so people can see it but mainly out on the road! Peace Charlie 🇬🇧

Awesome. Even today, there few female race drivers, or female engineers (since 1992 I have never worked with any female drivers or engineers). My girls all asked to drive my modified Porsche. After handing them the keys, they were all scared of the heavy controls and power. I would love to see more female race drivers and engineers.

Jacob Chrisman there are plenty of people who love these old cars and some are very knowledgeable about them. The biggest issue is that very few of them have the financial resources to restore them or even buy them. That’s why people like Leno are rare. He has the interest, the money and the connections to bring these cars back to life.

My uncle owned one of these in the late 1940s and I have a picture on my wall of him in the car, and a smaller one inset with me behind the wheel. The panel is identical with the funny instrument lights on stalks and all the gauges. The car had a Meadows engine and he used to race it in South Africa. He would drag me around with him to visit his other racing friends. The neighbour had a Riley MPH about the same age. It must get into your blood because I still drive a 1960 MGA that my dad bought new. Beautiful rebuild.

The annual race for these cars was last weekend at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire. despite bad weather the racing was fantastic as usual. Frazer Nash cars are very popular for racing and hillclimbing in the Vintage Sports Car Club. Blackburne-engined cars are very rare as many had the usual Meadows 4ED.

@WCADS umm...did you even watch the whole video? He specifically mentions at the end of it that he couldn't have restored that car without the help of the Frazer Nash Club of England. In fact he even goes on to say that he wouldn't have even known that the car existed. So in this case God Bless England might be more appropriate - where they still hold the technical details of this English car and are prepared to share them with famous American millionaires, eh?

@@johnalmason I didn't read the comment as trashing the Frazer Nash club nor the English people. It seems like it was praising Jay for spending his money to make it happen in the US because he had the technology and love of the car to make it happen, and Jay happens to be in America.

She is beautiful Mr. Leno! I have my first car (1965 Mustang) and wish I had the money to bring it to the current resto-mod era. My daughter doesn't want to know much about old cars. If we had a few minutes with her, we, together could impress her, (and maybe a few of her class mates,) That the old technology needs to be remembered. ( I have dad's 1982 Harley we changed over to points ignition.) My Great grand father was a blacksmith and owned a steam thrasher, My Grand father ran the Steam engine and was a Dodge Brothers dealership and later a Ford Tractor mechanic. My father was a mechanic and Managed the Parts and service department of a dealership before buying his own Aftermarket parts store. I worked with my dad and mom for several years before they offered me a partnership in the store... We sold the store and I did what my Post Graduate degree was in. I still love working on 1990 and pre-car's but realize we have to embrace new technologies.

I rode in a Frazer Nash in New Zealand back in 1967 ,the owner also had an Invicta. If i ever win a lottery an invicta is on my list. On that day i rode in Both , The owner was the first person I ever saw "drifting" as he took the turns in the winding road at full bore ,sideways. Then Did the same thing in the much larger Invicta. Frazer Nash was also the UK's BMW agant in the 60's and you could buy a tuned 2000 Nueklasse which had a Frazer Nash badge instead of the BMW item,.

Here's something to think about: most rich car guys who have over 100 cars put them away and you never see them, let alone see them hear them and learn about them because the owner makes the effort to do that for you.

I remember when Jay was talking about rebuilding this car... that is a long process, so cool to see it on the road and I respect J for being a car guy who drives his vehicles!

These are by far, the more appreciated JL vid. Including the Guys, is a Jay staple. These craftsman work in a world that makes limitations, go away. So much humility within these men, yet, they make a few comments to shore up Jay. Consider this particular video a reminder to save these episodes. Stiff shirts, and billionaire collectors are great, as are the mfgers. rep...aka 2020 'Vette, but these very occasional shows that feature his NASA-grade group of engineers, metal workers, scientists, and body men/painters truly put you deeper into the Garage. Great work Pare', and the Men. Capt. . Bart

My Granny and her second husband had a Nash for 60+ years until her death in 2007. I have loads of cool little bits of FN memorabilia and an ace picture of them them doing the Mille Miglia '72

Archy Frazer Nash could have been an aircraft builder but he decided cars were more fun! Like a lot of talented engineers he was a lousy businessman. It's so good of Jay to restore this car, other wise Frazer might be forgotten.

Aren't Jay's behind-the-wheel narratives just the absolute best?! No "auto" shows on the boob tube (TV) can even approximate Mr. Leno's endless expertise & hands-on knowledge!
