Wow it looks and sounds amazing! Such a lot of work has gone into it to bring it back to life again but it should at least play faultlessly for a long time now. Such an amazing machine deserves to be working well and you've certainly achieved a great success. Thanks for sharing the whole process from start to finish which has certainly been a very interesting journey.

Where are you finding that radio station that plays old 40's music ?

Good day, I am using a part 15 AM transmitter no longer made for the consumer market.

What kind of semi-permanent stylus would you use in a Capehart. Victor Chromium?
@Ketrons_Radio_Service Жыл бұрын
I would recommend Victor Chromium with the green shank. These needles are good for about 50 plays. Once sound quality starts to degrade, that is when the needle needs to be replaced. I typically go thru 1 1/2 needles during the testing phase of the 16-E post restoration, which is 100 cycles and automatic trips.

Many thanks, one day I would like to find a circa 1936-37 Capehart but for now I just watch them on youtube.

They come available from time to time, so stay on the lookout.

When this phonograph was new, it had to have cost more than a new car !!!
@Ketrons_Radio_Service Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your interest. This record changer did indeed cost almost as much as a basic Ford or Chevrolet back then. It was state of the art for the 1930s and early 1940s.
