Using heavy machinery to remove a rare 1937 Pierce Arrow trailer from a hunting cabin that was built around it.
Pierce Arrow built roughly 450 campers from 1937-38 as a last ditch effort to save their foundering company.
It is estimated that only 40 or so remain in existence, under 20 of this largest "Model A" size, featured here.
This particular unit was part of a camp since the 1960's, which preserved much of its original features.
Despite missing some chassis components and having a section of wall missing, this unit is incredibly in tact and in very good condition for 85 years old!
This is a rare and special trailer. Great care was afforded to preserve its condition.

Thanks Ben! That was fascinating watching the guys load and unload the trailer! It looks pretty trashed but then it is 85 years old and hasn't been pampered! I can't wait to watch you restore it. Congratulations on obtaining this historical piece!

This will be a head turner when restored. Those 1930’s trailers were beautiful, especially all of the Art Deco touches. I even like the green exterior color.

It would have to pass an inspection to be road worthy so some modifications will have to be made. nice find. my dad did a build on trailer additon to a 1960 Economy by General. If it were mine, I would choose to restore it as close to original including the wheels and hitch and then build a custom building for it so it would not be exposed to the weather or risk of being damaged. by doing that he did not have to do a kitchen or bath install into the addition I lived in it from 1965 until 1980.

What are you going to do with that hideous thing? It looks like something from the show "Hogans Heroes!"
