Major accuracy issue: Brook had NOTHING to do with Capehart products of the era. This whole deception started about 5-8 years ago on eBay when some seller decided since Brook amplifiers were selling for so much, and Capehart amplifiers had 2A3s, they must have been made by Brook. Huh? Unfortunately, lots of folks fall for this BS and get ripped off. There is absolutely no information anywhere showing Capehart amplifiers were made by Brook. Nowhere. Period. That all being said, these Capehart amplifiers are really well designed with excellent parts and construction.

Capehart made both a PP 6L6 and PPP 2A3 version (4 2A3s). Big tipoff when you see these for sale is when the seller refers to them as "Brooks" amplifiers. If you're going to misrepresent, at least get the name of the company correct. Brook was a very small company with nowhere near the capacity to supply Capehart's needs. Capehart had huge production and engineering capabilities after building equipment for the war.

@@audiotechnica1827 Thank you for your comment. There was no intention to misrepresent as I have no desire to sell this amplifier and bought it for cheap -- the seller had no idea it was even a Capehart. That said, I should have done due diligence to better investigate the widespread claims these amps have some relationship to Brook. I will revise the title if possible and pin your comment so hopefully nobody is misled.

@@audiotechnica1827 and dont forget the 12 watt with the two 6V6's. This was designated N-3. the N-1 was rated 30 watts at four ohms, the N-2 was 18 watts at eight ohms.

@@Mr39036ce There was a variant of the N-1 which had an 8 Ohm output impedance. It also had global negative feedback. This was used with the Western Electric phenolic cone D173491 military version 12" speaker. The power relay was used to minimize stress on the on-off switch, which was located on the tuner chassis. The high inrush current of the large power transformer was likely a factor here.
