At the tail end of World War Two, a serial killer named James Waybern "Red" Hall, stalked the roads of Arkansas, Kansas and other middle American states, remorselessly murdering kind people who made the unfortunate decision to offer him a ride.

I don't know about 'psychopath' or head injuries, but it sounds to me that he felt so much guilt for his first kill that he kept murdering. That he murdered males suggests to me that he wanted someone to stop him for that internal guilt. Also, I feel that she is just as damaged as her subject. Will *not* be buying her book. BUT!
