In 1974, I visited my old home town in Ohio. A former next door neighbor owned a maroon '41 Lincoln Continental. It was sitting in front of her garage looking a little derelict (faded paint and a low tire if I remember right) at the time. Anyway, I made sure to inform her that she had a classic. I think she was already fairly aware of this. But I like to think that she was even more aware of it after we talked about it. I wish I had known that there were only 850 of those made back then. I knew they were rare. I just did not know how rare. Those were rare when they were new! Anyway, that remains still the only 1941 Lincoln Continental that I have ever laid eyes on.

The front end was modelled after a yacht: the knife edge of the prow cutting through water creating a crest of water on either side. Edsel liked to go sailing, much to Henry's consternation.
