I had the same Bible but the 1944 version. A pastor friend forgot his Bible and asked me if I had any spare one to lend him for his Bible Study. I only had this on my desk drawer and so I gave it to him. A few hours later he came back and regrettably told me he lost the Bible. It was one of the biggest regrets of my life.

@Histbuff41 no it wasn't. Found it in an antique bookshop. It has the name of the soldier and his address. In the days before social media (late 90s) always wondered if the owner made it back home and even planned to send a letter to the address. But unfortunately my friend lost it.

@@ryanvictoria6206 well that’s a silver lining. As collectors and history aficionados, we often see ourselves as the stewards of historical objects. Dispassionately, these are fairly ubiquitous and can be easily replaced. Thank you for your viewership and for sharing your story.
