I personally prefer the Then and Now videos myself. It is intriguing to see how things change over time. Thank you for another goodie.

Thanks! I appreciate the positive feedback. These do take a bit more time than a typical video to edit together so it makes it worth it when people enjoy them.

Dude you're Inlet Square Mall video got me hooked. I love these type of videos one thing that is really bizarre is say you were a 10 year old kid watching that parade they would be 88 years old today. My mother who is 73 would be born 4 years after this parade. I can't wait to watch more of these videos.

It is very interesting to see these old photos. I love looking at how it used to be. It’s sad to see the pavilion area so bare. Guess they cleared it out to have the Country Music Fest every year. Lots of money, low maintenance.

This is best "then and now" video of Myrtle Beach. Great job young man. Everything changes but change itself. HERACLITUS.

I watched the whole thing! I made a short similar one like this several years ago from Mocksville NC which is my hometown. It was fun fitting the old photos to the new landscape. Great video!!

I would love a video like this from about the Myrtle Beach State Park down through Surfside Beach including Pirateland and the old Magic Harbor. This one is neat, it really has changed.

It’s strange why city planners would make a curved road among a grid layout. Makes for odd shaped buildings and lots.

Awesome, video. If people knew then to what it was going to be in the future. Would they taught harder to keep the old stuff. But mb means not for long.

I enjoyed this one! I love to look at aerial shots of towns & cities. It's always interesting to see how much things change. Obviously, some things you don't want to see change but it's inevitable.

I liked the video and the railroad one as well. Speaking of railways, what is the status on the reincarnation of the Myrtle Beach line?
@MrMyrtle4 жыл бұрын
Theres always rumblings around town, every few years, of the rail coming back into operation, but as of today I haven't heard anything legit.
Enjoyed your video, and although not from there, I visited many times in my life (from Charlotte). Folks tell me I just turned 70, but I don't feel a day over 69! Anyway, the only pic that threw me was at 7:05 when you said the driveway to the hotel was the original entrance to the Pavillion. I can't figure that out relative to the ocean. I'll check back in case you respond, and I'll be checking out your other vids! Thanks.

I liked how you kept scrolling the photos so quickly one would have to pause to actually see anything. After a minute and a half I assumed you had no idea what you were doing and so I left this comment and didnt bother watching the rest.

When my Girlfriend and I first traveled to Myrtle Beach this place was Magical. Now it seems to be a "Den of Thieves" wanting every bit of change you have in your pocket. Don't get wrong though. I love the shops, restaurants and a few attractions. But when it comes to Hotels charging "Resort Fees" when they are not a resort in just criminal. Now every historical site is being demolished only to create more "Money Changers" to sell you cheap low quality junk. I've even met local residents who complain at about the greedy conditions of Myrtle Beach. Where did the Methodist Church relocate?

Great video, just saw it today for the first time. One little thing I don't think anyone noticed. US 501, as we know it now, did not exist! Traffic to and from Conway traveled on Broadway to Hwy 15, across what is now the runway in MB, and out what is now SC 707, across the Socastee draw bridge to Conway. Just a fun fact I learned from my dad when he was a child. Keep up the good work!

From the early to mid 70's, my family stayed at the T and C Motor Court. It was on Business 17 and if I remember correctly, it was roughly parallel to the 2nd Ave Pier. I cant find it's exact address. I remember it being within walking distance from The Pavillion. It was such a great place! Some of my greatest memories as a kid occurred there. I wish I still had some of the 1970s postcards we used to have. Very special.

Enjoyed your video. Towards the end I saw what appeared to be a lookout tower. I know the East Coast had structures for coastal defense from German U Boats. 1942 we were in World War 2 and I was curious if this was one such structure.

Really neat, but would’ve been interesting to show the pavilion when the corkscrew, galaxy, log flume and/or hurricane rollercoasters were there, as there is nothing there now. Some of the old pavilion postcards show similar views, but great job, very interesting.

As I find and have friends share images and old footage I’ll make other then and now style videos for sure.

How is it possible that such a large piece of prime real estate sit empty where the pavilion used to be? No way in a million years does that zip line bring in the money that that location is worth.

An Amphitheater would be nice there for the Country Fest instead of standing.

MBeach is still the most violent city in SC. It doesn’t take George Soros and his malcontents to change that statistic. The local thugs will kick some Antifa butt if they come messing around on their turf.
