This was the last World Series game played at Wrigley Field until 2016. The manager of the Cubs in 1945 was Charlie Grimm, who died in 1983 and whose ashes were spread on Wrigley Field. My Dad was an electrician by trade and once rewired the Grimm's farmhouse outside St. Louis, all the while being entertained with baseball stories from Mr. Grimm.
