1946 Maytag 72, from rust to running.

Merry Christmas! For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11. This is my first Maytag engine. It only took cleaning of the points to get spark. But the fuel tank was badly rusted. The check valve and tube were bad. I used naval jelly and a wire brush to clean the tank. This helped, but using electrolysis really did the job. It took over 50 hours of electrolysis to get it usable. It runs nicely and I will probably clean it up more and paint it in the future. #antique #old #engine
