1947 Jaguar MK4

This imported rare car was shown at the Delray Concours and won the Chief Judge's Award. George Cole owns an original 1947 Jaguar MK4, unrestored, with original seats made of still supple leather. He explains how this saloon car is valued against drop head Jaguars of the same year, and takes it to many car shows all over the country, especially Classic Car Club of America events. Great video. Brings back memories. My late uncle had one of these early Jaguars. When I stayed over (talking very early 50's), I'd gaze at the enormous Lucas headlights, be transfixed with the chromework: the scrolled bumper, the iconic Jaguar bonnet symbol, and of course, sit in it, take in the glorious leather smell, and pretend to drive it! When I was a kid in Massachusetts, one of my kid friends had one of these. Hard to recall now, but I think he only kept it about 2 months, troublesome. Replaced it with a '37 Buick Century.

in my oh-so hoity-toity hometown in the NL, we had a couple that drove a Mk4 three position DHC. Truly oh so chic !

Great video.. May I ask on a hot day, 1/ does the engine run cool? (have you added an extra electric fan for cooling the radiator?) 2/ with the clever sun roof & windout windscreen, is the cabin cool enough to be bearable From Sunny & not Australia
