My wife and I were born in Slndh and moved to India in 1948. This last February we visited Karachi and many parts of Sindh. We received extreme hospitality, respect and affection wherever we went. In Sukkur the Sindh government provided a police escort for our safety. Food was great in Karachi and sukkur( you must visit Sindhri restaurant in Sukkur). It was a very emotional and spiritual experience returning to our birthplace after 75 years..

Sindhi Muslims have enormous respect for Sindhi Hindus because they had been living together since centuries. Hindus celebrate Eid and Muharram with us and we put color on them on Holi. It's after 1947 with the arrival of outsiders that atmosphere started getting changed and many Hindus migrated but even then there were no killings or riots in Sindh such was the land of Sufis - Sindh. This recent wave of forceful conversions and resultant exodus of Hindus has pained every Sindhi here. Population from 23% to 5% is a stupid argument and a stupid lie. People migrated East to West, and west to east. That is the only reason. 6 million people went to India, 7 million came into Pakistan. In the first census after independence, in 1951, the population was 3.5%, 5% would mean an Increase in population.

Ramesh doesn’t knows that 65’s war was fought in Lahore sectors. Indian forces in the war of 1971 was entered and forwarded up to Islam Kot at the Nager Parker sectors and stopped over there by the fear of that Pakistan’s army might had been trapping them as because there was no resistance from the PAK army’s, so that Indian army thoughts that its a war strategy of Pakistan’s army to trap 🪤 them, whereas Pakistan’s army was went backed from the Nagar Parkar to Naukot, and was stranded there.

Well Hindu community must stay always in Pakistan this is their traditional land from centuries rather thousands of years why they should have left in 1947. I think this was a spontaneous trigger of disturbances that caused mayhem distrust which compelled many to leave their motherland. The Hindus living on Pakistani part have a rich heritage which goes back to the days of Jayapala or Jaipal the last king of Hindushahi dynasty 10th century. They spoke local vernacular either Dari or Pushto their mother tongue. To many now living in Pakistan must understand that 8th to 10th centuries was a period of great change and conversions. So those Hindus living in Pakistan are their kin or same blood relations. The lands of Sindhu(upper Sindh) Sauvira the lower Sindh(Tharparkar around were two kingdoms about 1200 BC but the Hindushahi Dynasty rulers of Kabul valley ruled from 3rd century AD. After the defeat of Jayapala at the hands of Mahmud of Ghazni the down fall of Hindushahi dynasty began. Mahmud was a Turkic speaker who were first convert family from Central or eastrn part of Iran. Well to cut short I give credit to Hindus of Pakistan still surviving despite strong resistance from extremist elements. Most of the Hindus living in Sindh were not so much disturbed as compared to living in Punjab or KPK. Hindus of Sindh retain a very strong bond to their religion and culturally they are rich and colorful.

Reason behind hindu population decline is that most were in sindh and eastern Pakistan. With bngladesh major hindu population of Pakistan is now in bangladesh. Most of the affluent hindu families were industrialists or business people in western Pakistan and have left for dubai and other western countries, not india. With affluent class gone , middle class hindus are left with fewer representative. Another problem is that most hindus here are from nomadic sindh, they dont give much attention to education. Result is hindu youth looking for spouse in people of other religious backgrounds. That gives way to conversions for marriage settlement. Indian propaganda shows it as "forced conversion". Is hinduism so fragile to abandon this easly. Hindus are not reffered here with racial slurrs like for minorties in india. India is driven by zee tv drama styled news shows. They ll blv any BS smeared on their face by indian media.
