I used my Slim Adjustable this morning with A Feather blade. You really can’t beat TTO DE razors.

Yesterday morning I used my Super Speed that I haven't touched in maybe 5 years. Today I get this commercial. Hmm.

You got a lot for your money back then. Nowdays the equivalent would be around 100 dollars or more.
@DouglasSmythe2 жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand? Traditional shaving can be cheaper that multiblade cartridges! I mean, 100 safety blades cost between $9-$16, where as cartridge blades are like 4 for $25! So I think it’s fair to say, you still get a lot for your money when you opt for the right (or better) tool for the job, no?
@deadcell48372 жыл бұрын
@@DouglasSmythe i mean for a DE razor of the caliber of a vintage fatboy/ slim etc you would be looking to pay a high price if they were brought out today. I have seen modern butterfly adjustable razors that cost 100.
@deadcell48372 жыл бұрын
@@DouglasSmythe in todays money, 1.29 dollars is about 15 dollars.
@DouglasSmythe2 жыл бұрын
@@deadcell4837 honestly, if they were mass produced the prices would be low. Especially if the US still had the means to manufacture them. I know there are a lot of great razors out there for under 30 dollars. Heck, i have seen some quality shavers for under 15! We ourselves sell what I think are some of the best on offer today for under 100 easy!
@deadcell48372 жыл бұрын
@@DouglasSmythe fair point. It would be good to see quality razors like the ones from back in the day to be mass produced again. Sadly though modern business dictates that they churn out low quality at a high price for profit. I doubt we will ever truly see the ratio of quality vs cost again like it was back in the day.

Too bad the razors Gillette makes now are extremely overpriced and terrible
@Beans3603 жыл бұрын
Tbf Gillette still make DE safety razor blades cheap. But their cartridge heads are expensive.
@anthonylowder6687 Жыл бұрын
@@Beans360 Actually Gillette doesn’t manufacture DE blades in America anymore. All the blades that say Gillette are now made in Turkey, Russia, India and many other places.
@Beans360 Жыл бұрын
@@anthonylowder6687 well I'm not sure they manufacture in the UK either but their cheap to get offline.
@johnmazzoni487 Жыл бұрын
The de blades I like are Gillette super stainless and are made in Russia
