1948 Buick Sedan Met - Tinley Car Show

I see this car a 1948 Buick Sedan Met and an opportunity to film it and it brings me several more gems (Jen). The car is very unique and the owner puts together a different car show that is very large and famous in Illinois. Thanks for all.

If a person is into retro mods this is a nice car. It is no longer a 1948 Buick however. I perfer my cars stock. To each his own.

It is great that he kept the body pretty much as it was in 1948. It is his car and parts are hard to find!

He said it has air conditioning? That couldn't possibly have been an option on a GM car in 1948 except POSSIBLY on a Buick Roadmaster or a Cadillac.

The 1940 Packard was the first year AC was an option, but it was a primitive set-up that had no clutch on the compressor and it blew from the rear shelf freezing the necks of the passengers. On GM cars, 1953 was the first year for it and was was a better and more modernized system. Due to expense, it didn't become popular until the '60's. Even Cadillacs up to then were often seen without it.

This car is totally non original so the air conditioning is strictly aftermarket. 1953 was the first year factory air was available on a Buick. You could order it in a Roadmaster or in a Super. Very rare option.
