I am very late to the 8N tractor but your video series has been a monumental inspiration for me and God willing I have the longevity to tear through mine, it’s all due to your excellent guidance … thanks!

Kevin do you go back and paint the attaching hardware on the front frame? How would it have left the ford factory?
@ClaremontClassicGarage Жыл бұрын
I normally would not. And that is a very good question. I'm not sure if they came painted or not.

Thanks for all the information what parts do I need to change from a 4 bolt steering box to the upgraded bolt ones ?
@ClaremontClassicGarage8 ай бұрын
You'll need a 2 bolt steering box and the steering arms. You'll need a 50-52 dash panel or mod yours. Thats it. Uses your same tie rods and steering wheel.

Enjoy the video they are a great help but what type of Grease do you use around 11:25 in the video
@ClaremontClassicGarage2 жыл бұрын
Its just plain old chassis grease you buy in a tub.

Where does one find the ball bearing races? Years ago I just had to fix the best I could. When I finally get to restoring the old 8n we have I would like to fix correctly.

Any of the places that sell 8N parts will have them. Steiners or Just8Ns would be able to help you.

Hello, I really find your videos extremely helpful. I purchased the adjustment jig you mentioned for the hydraulics, I just haven't started working on the tractor for a while as I got a stroke back in July. The hydraulic s do lift but won't hold up, I removed the plate where the transmission dipstick is and there's very little oil leaking from the cylinder the lift lever is all the way to the back leading me to believe it's out of adjustment. What else should I look for. Thank you very much in advance for any help.

You're on the right track. Make sure everything is clean and flat and once you have it apart if it doesn't already have an NAA piston with the o-ring on it, swap it up to that..

@@ClaremontClassicGarage yes I've ordered the upgraded piston and cylinder kit, a new pressure relief valve and the little pin that usually wears out. Thank you very much for your help. I love your videos restoring your 8n. I wish someday mine would look at least half as good.👌

Hi Kevin enjoyed the video but I was wondering and if you’re not comfortable telling me that is okay but who do you deal with ordering parts? With the inflation things are just getting so expensive, I like supporting Canadian companies so I have been getting a lot of my parts from Amazon and EBay but I thought I would see what you had to say. Carry on Canada!
