Here in Québec city, Canada I found an original untouch 1949 Ford Shoebox sitting in an old garage for 39 years. This is it's revival!

I sat in the back seat of a car just like this as my baby sister was being driven home from hospital. I came home in a '46. So you made an old man cry. Thank you so much.

Hi Jim👋 The information is appreciated. Good story. My father, born in the 1950s, told me that some of these Fords were imported from the US as patrol cars for Buenos Aires. Greetings from Argentina

Down here in the antipodes we would call this model a "single spinner" and the next model was a "twin Spinner". Freinds of my parents had one in 1957 ,in the same metallic green . And by the time the 70's came around a lot of my Friends had them . That example must have been a cherished car,and even had it's own sign above it's garage. 😁

The way I remember it, both 1949 & 1950 were "single spinner" models with the 1951 being the twin spinner version. I had always believed that the 1949 car had twist door handles, like almost all cars back into the early thirties, while the 1950 & later cars used a fixed handle with a thumb press button. This video clears this up for once & for all. The 1949 door handle is a pull out arrangement & this seems to be the first defining feature of the 1949 car.

Love the sound of the Flat Head Ford. I owned several in my day. I bought my first 1949 Custom Convertible for $75.00 and drove it everywhere. From Missour to Arkansas to California and back twice then got married and we traveled all Western States.

Sounds like you are using 4 gauge battery cables. You MUST use 1 gauge cables. You just must. 6 colts starters draw twice the amps, which means that you MUST use thick cables, or else it won't crank fast enough, and you can not use a little Group 1 battery, you must use Group 2 or bigger, unless your engine is under 200 cubic inches .

thank you for your advice. I will correct these things. Very apreciate the info.
