I have a 50 chevy deluxe as a daily driver. While there are a couple things maybe i would have done a little differently you built a beautiful car and the craftsmanship is undeniable.

Beautiful build, outstanding craftsmanship. But, it would’ve been even better if the trim down the hood and body line/fender was there.

My first car was a 1949 Chevy De Luxe 2-door; my Dad found it in a junkyard, with a 6-cylinder, "cracked" engine (frozen, no anti-freeze). After hundreds of hours, and lots of Bondo, and another 6-cylinder salvaged from an old pickup my Dad owned, it was roadworthy. We rebuilt almost everything, from the brakes to the carb, and installed reversed wheels with tires with "U.S. Royal Master" sidewalls (it was the early 60's, big fad then). I wanted to get it painted almost the same color as yours, but, never had the budget for it. So, it remained dark gray with lots of light grey primer spots. I did get it upholstered in blue and white Naugahyde, for my high school graduation present. I even found a used AM radio for it, with the vertical buttons, and...it worked. The next thing was, I had secured two, 1954 Ford headlight rims, which I read in Car Craft magazine, matched the contour of the front of the 49's fenders, and I was going to use them to "French" the headlights. But, a few weeks after I got them, I rear-ended another car, and ruined the front clip. I got another clip, but it was a yukky green, and I just got disheartened and stopped right there. Later, I joined the Air Force, told my Dad to sell it.

Wow! What an Extremely Sanitary build these folks pulled off. I Really like how they kept everything pretty much on the stock side like the bumpers and chassis. The body which also remained pretty much stock also looked Fantastic in her Blue dress. The interior turned out Sweet with the medium brown hydes & GTO seats. Everything turned out just Awesome on this fat fender Chevy. and as usual H.B.C. you didn't fail to provide us with a remarkable video montage of all the work that was done, and I Thank you for that!

Excellent build. Not sure about covering the engine as it would get not quicker, so not really a practical everyday build.

I meant to write that the engine cover would retain too much heat and the fans would have to cut in more if idling in traffic.

I built this car for a friend of mine, the color is: hok majestic blue pearl but I had it redone in PPG paint.
