Going to be fun to watch. This will be old hat for you. I unstuck a few flattie valves with a heavy hook through soark plug hole and a little hammer. And pb blaster of course. I keep my hood closed, open it if someone wants to see in there.

Hey Rick: Already saw part 2 where it comes back to life so nicely !! That's a great car !!! Can't believe how good that Flathead sounds !! As far as "badging" this build, you're too young to "remember" but do you recall seeing pictures of kids back in the day with "Flat-Top" haircuts?? With the chop, that's what this car reminds me of so how about calling this one "Flat-Top" ??? Also, kind of a play on "Flathead". ;o) If you're going to "transplant" something into this "bird", I would suggest a vintage Olds. Maybe a 56/57 with the J-2 ??? Those Olds motors had so much "GRUNT" (torque) !! Any case, I'm sure it will be VERY NICE very soon in your hands !! ;o)

I'd keep the flatty if you can, otherwise a SBF would be cool. The smell of rotten gas is so nice.....NOT. The old shoebox looks great. Looks like a great project. Be safe and stay well.

Hey Rick. Hell yeah love these shoeboxes. My neighbour has one. When you closed the trunk it got me thinking. Since it’s a smooth custom, what about hidden trunk hinges to keep it all smooth? Invision prototypes did a wild body swapped shoebox. No longer old school but cool

Yes you put 1951 ford hinges on them. But to be honest I like the trunk hinges that are on it

Yeah, keep the flatty if at all possible. Looking forward to the floor repair vids. If the flatty don't work out the Y block sounds like a decent option. Something different and still old school. Explaining the glass replacement is going to make for a good video too. Question: Is winter a four letter word? It is in my world!!! Greetings from Wisconsin!!!

Just a suggestion, you say the gas tank is going to be removed, it stinks, ok. If a better tank goes in how about deleting the gas door. It is a "custom". Great chop job on that roof.

My chop is definitely worse shape but rust free. Its one thing or another. Mine was chopped in the early 70s. Rough......
