Hi! My name is Tom and I had a JD 45 loader that I put it on my JD 50 first. Then later I got Super M brackets. I even put in on my neighbor's JD A[1947/8/or 9]. I don't remember the exact year. I never had to beat the mast down when putting the loader on. I would drive the tractor into the loader till I could get the hydraulic hoses hooked up. Then I would release the stands, colapes the cylinders and then drive forward and the loader always dropped down without hammering on the mast.I would then place the pins in the bottom of the mast and raise the loader up to stow the stands. Then lower the loader down to put in the two braces on and tighten the star wheels tight. Then I would twist the braces till they were tight.

I have a ‘51 B and a 45 loader. Wish that I had a 50 or 60 because they have live hydraulics.

I have never had to beat the mast down. The owners before me sure did.

Thanks for the video, I never knew that two pins or bolts should go into the bottom of the masts

Try to keep your clutch engaged when ever the engine is running, otherwise you are wearing the bearing inside the clutch which you do not want to do as changing that bearing is no picnic. Nice to see someone else still using a 45 loader.

I think JD was or is the only company that builds their loaders to remove and install without disassembling the loader.
