1950s Commercials Vintage Commercials Continued
Sugar Smacks Commercial
This is really neat. A cereal commercial featuring Superman (Clark Kent) from Adventures of Superman from the 1950s.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventu...
Casey Kasem also makes an appearance as the clown character at the end.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casey_K...
VO5 Hair Spray commercial
A commercial for hair spray featuring a teenage girl.
Budweiser commercial
A relaxing commercial featuring an attractive woman on a beach with music. She of course drinks Budweiser.
Sunbeam Bread Commercial
A commercial for bread. Not sure whatever happened to this brand.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunbeam...
E-Z Pop Popcorn commercial
A commercial featuring cool cat background music. Who would have ever thought that a popcorn commercial could be so jammin'?
Paper Mate Pen Commercial
A commercial featuring animated pig characters advertising paper mate pens. Mel Blanc can be heard as one of the pig characters.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_Mate
Scottie Tissue Commercial
A boring commercial featuring scottie tissues. There's not much you can do to make these things exciting, I guess. This must have been the first time they promoted the "magic oval" feature. Something that is probably on all brands now.
Milk-bone Dog Biscuits Commercial
A commercial featuring dog snacks called milk-bone dog biscuits.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milk-Bone

I think the wonder of these ads is that they display pleasant situations and the narrator hits a kind of tone that makes you believe that the product is really America's finest. You're safe, you don't have to stress about which brand to choose for your family because life will be easy if you buy that particular cereal/baby food/canned food they show. I watch/listen to these adverts sometimes as relaxation.

Is that rapping popcorn the same voice that did the song in The Grinch (original)?

@@rickyrosay33977Yep, pull tabs weren't put on cans until the '60s. Then by the end of the '70s they introduced the tabs that stay on the cans.

I always keep my Budwiesers next to the fire, for those icy days at the beach! Papermate pens so ingenious, does anyone else think the problem needed a better solution? $1.95 in 1956 adjusted for inflation is $21.45, in 2023. Very expensive!
