I thin this little radio is “smart” looking. Something a business man might take with him. And it is good to have you back. 📻🙂

i just can't get enough of these radios! I still listen to my NEC NT 620. My first radio, that started my love of these marvels. In 1960 or 1961, my dad came home with it playing out of his shirt pocket. I was only 6 years old, but it changed my life forever. Great video! you always leave us wanting more.

Jeg elsker dine videoer om disse små radioer, helt fantastisk, især dengang der bliv gjort meget ud af designet. Dejligt at se.

Wow, that radio is in really nice condition! I have been restoring old radios since 1971. The American transistor radios were significantly higher quality than the Asian offerings, but of course, lowest price was 75%, smallest size 15%, and style 10% of their goals at the time. I witnessed so many of these cheap radios in the 1960's melt into a blob if accidentally left in the car but, no one cared since the price was so low, they would just go out and buy another one.

I still keep a transistor radio in a drawer for emergencies. When the power is out and the internet goes down and my cell phone battery dies I can still use that Magnavox AM/FM transistor to get some news.
@notthatdigusted74682 жыл бұрын
I bought mine because it was featured in Back to the Future Part II in the antique store inside the Cafe 80s building. If only Marty bought the Magnavox Weekender radio instead of the Sports Almanac.

If you guys are ever selling the black Magnavox weekender am-62 radio with leather case I would like to have it.

It would be interesting to place a transistor count badge on a modern cell phone!

Yes. I like this idea!

@@collectornet Wait, I thought cell phones had semiconductors not transistors. Wasnt the transistor the precursor to the semiconductor?

I just bought this radio off of ebay for a couple hundred bucks and mine came in red which is okay but I prefer the black colored one.

I just found the hard to find black one that was an awesome find, finding a prop they used in Back to the Future Part 2 in the Café 80s Blast from the Past antique store.

My mum and dad bought me my first transit radio back in the 60s it worked well until till my inquisinquisitive mind started to play with the Screws in side my knowledge is better now the screws I mest up were probably the variable capacitor tuner and the if transformers

I love these radios. I collect 3 transistor walkie talkies from the 50s and 60s. Have you ever considered that?
@collectornet2 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, I collect walkie-talkies too! There's a great little book available online, "Toy Walkie Talkies." It shows some walkie-talkies that are also AM radios!
