That fan turned out pretty nice! About the switch, if you have any hi-res pics of the switch i could see how it goes together and see how it could be fixed, also, just to let you know, the component you show at 9:39 as actually called a Field Winding (or some call it a stator), just thought I'd letcha know. have a great day!

One more thing Brain, if you got a good look of the switch at the end of my video, would have any info or whereabouts about it ? It is a leviton switch, I'm having problems uploading my video for some reason sorry if I'm having a slow pace with all of this , thank you.
