Thanks for the share with ur Dad’s engine. You have some serious talent too. Seems like the Brass acorn “nut” didn’t fall far from the tree . cheers 😊

I love the motor mounts. I wish I would have gone that route instead of trying to make it easier and cutting corners with an aftermarket mount. I also loved the engine your dad made that’s so cool. I’m glad you have it.

Another great video Dan. That steam engine is absolutely incredible. Your old man had some serious talent. If you're keeping the front steering and suspension components stock, check out Pre-60's vintage auto supply. Shay is a great guy, super knowledgeable and he's here in Ontario.

Thanks! A local guy saw the video's and has a Horton's crossmember and tubular control arms. So Mustang II suspension, disc brakes and rack & pinion is what's going in this one.

they make mounts to put sbc in those trucks . i always wondered if the motor was left or right too high or too low front or back .

I just take measurements and go! Room for the rad, clearance for firewall and centering the engine are all factors...thanks for watching!

curious why you didn't install them tubular crossmember? is it really needed? Q#2, how would you know if your too far forward or too close to the cab?
@dirtydansrodncycle7 ай бұрын
I measured from the cab mounts and the rad location from the original crossmember. Remember, a straight six is a longer engine than a V8

Dan, absolutely love your channel!!! I’ve told all my buddies about you and hopefully their some of your new subscribers. I’m working on 86 square body and I’m gonna paint it in my shop sorta like yours with no paint booth what’s your trick in keeping trash out of your paint job? Thanks

I keep the fans on while I clean up...shop vac the floor around the vehicle...wipe down with wax 'n' grease remover and then a tack cloth...but most important, disturb as little dust as possible! Your still gonna get some but usually it can be wet sanded and buffed out! Good luck and thanks for watching!

im getting ready to install a 327 in my 51 3100, need EVERY bit of help i can get.. 1st question: why did you have to level the truck/frame? vs having it sit "stock" ?
@dirtydansrodncycle7 ай бұрын
The frame was levelled off in order to determine pinion angle. An engine leans toward the rear about 3 degrees so that the driveshaft is running a straight line from the trans to the rear end.
@KompaLuNA7 ай бұрын
Also.... did you make an extra set of mounts for sale?
@dirtydansrodncycle7 ай бұрын
Sorry, these were one offs...I fabricate different mounts for different vehicles.
@jamesharrison62012 жыл бұрын
Be worth watching if you kept the original engine. V8 are way overdone
@dirtydansrodncycle2 жыл бұрын
The six wasn't original anyway...it's a later model!
