an experienced collector can tell if wax pack has been compromised. wax pack is like a fingerprint. now i wouldn't trust GAI grading cuz they are shady dealings in past.

my dad was around 5 years old when that came out, he told me that the gum back then in some of the packs were as big as the cards.

I remember opening a pack of 80 Topps and the gum was pretty big. I made 10 by eating the gum.😂 i opened the pack in 89 I think.

Really dude!!! U know better than that. Please get your prints off the cards. Pull the cards with a open hand. Gripping them on the side. This way is even better than the One Touch. Great looking cards but realize that most packs have already been gone through and resealed. It is just WAY too easy to do with the wax and the rewards are too high. Live and learn.

Depends on the time frame when graded. There are many early graded packs that are good. The older label looks like it was during the more than likely legitimate era. Thise cards look crisp too. Definitely 8's, some 9's and maybe a 10 in that pack

I say you're NUTS if the unopened 1954 Bowman wax pack was graded by Beckett 7.5 why OPEN it to begin with for just more money and you didn't even have any big dogs in the pack at all !!! I wouldn't have opened it !!!

Your “big prize”, went on to Brooklyn, and represented the final out in Don Larsen’s perfect Series game, in 1956. Not bad, but…beginning to wonder, given all the cards I’ve now seen, how many immortals in real life played the majors(?) Maybe we’re the ones getting played….

Those packs came from an attic I believe in Tennessee. 33% of the boxes and packs were destroyed by mice. I would think this is enough proof of a searched pack. Attics are not the best spots for unopened. Unless.the climate was decent.

Fortunate enough to have received a bunch of 1954 Bowman from an uncle. No Mantle or Ted, but have a Mays. These cards are vintage, but super ugly with the autographs inside the rectangular box. This video probably should have taken 3 minutes.

It's a group break, not just a pack break. There are multiple people involved with money invested. But he could work on a proper tool to cut three sides of the holder.

@dave idmarx selling "unopened " packs of cards, especially from that era...it is WAY too easy to open these packs, search them and reseal them without detection...hell most are just people that buy the wrappers and put a bunch of commons in...there is no way to accurately detect if these packs are legitimately unopened or searched.

Your handling of the cards as you put them in the card savers is embarrassing - you actually whip the plastic on card #2! It is easy to prevent this - put the cards in penny sleeves and cut one of the edges of the card saver for easy insertion (and likely grading with PSA). Level up folks! We need to teach new collectors the best practices!

for years people grading and handling high end vintage cards never put them in penny sleeves. As someone else pointed out, PSA actively discouraged it for a while. What advantage does a penny sleeve even offer in a card saver? People love to be armchair experts.
