The hydraulic pump under the hood is for the hydraulic power windows and power top. A Truly Beautiful automobile.

I think you mean L head straight 8 not flat V8. The hydraulic pump under the hood is not for a hydraulic levelling suspension. That was not available on the 54.

I think those "fog lights" you're referring to are not fog lights, but rather the turn signal indicator lamps.

It’s a 359 flathead Inline-8, not a 358 V8. And the Caribbean was made in ‘56, as well as 53-55.

How could a "Packard man" not recognize that this has an inline strait eight? Got me to thinking that I should have converted my last Packard, a 4dr. 1951 400 to a 4dr convertible Caribbean by extending the rear fenders, adding a continental kit and chrome wheel openings and add the '54 optional supercharger to the 327 cu. in. engine, or put in the 356 from my '48 Custom ? Loved the many Packards of my youth!

Missed one in 1978 I think for $2,500.00 in Athens Ga. with new leather and the guy did the engine . got to Athens ,and could not find the phone number . Checked News Papers ,every where for two weeks , nothing . Still think about it .
