Each time I see a video, it still amazes me how little owners now know about their vehicle. Just have to have an old car. A real motor head would be excited to tell you anything and everything about the vehicle. It is a 3 speed automatic. It starts in second in the drive position (unless floored) and shifts to third. If you start the shifter in Low, you get 1st gear, then shift it to drive for second and third. The lifters are solid lifters (341 Y block in 1955 only) not hydraulic and can be adjusted. Nicely optioned and a cool car. The Multi-Luber was a cool and rare option.

The only negative with these is the replacement of the GM Hydramatic, which has 4 speeds, with a beefed up Ford-O-Matic with only 3 speeds that started out in 2nd gear.

It's got the optional Multi-Luber! A rare option controlled by a switch on the dashboard.

The Continental was not really a Lincoln until 1959 when the Continental Division was folded into Lincoln.
