My neighbor had a Massey 55 back in my much younger days. That was a big tractor then.

In the mid 1960's our dad bought a Massey Harris model 55 from one of our neighbors several miles away. It ran on gasoline and I don't know what year it was and it did not have lights. It turned out to be a good tractor that he had very little problems with. We farmed with tht until we later go a 1965 Case 930 on LP. That was the best tractor we ever farmed with until Dad retired in 1978. It had a hand clutch on it which was a feature I really liked. They were both good tractors. We also had a MM model U that our dad and uncle bought new in 1949 that we used for row crop. That turned out to be a really good tractor that my younger brother still has and has been restored.

I have a Massey 23 that I use to move snow and clear land here in Atlantic Canada. That little tractor never ceases to amaze me.

That's an absolute Beauty. I always loved the nice big platform of a Western-fendered Massey-Harris. :)

Dad had a John Deere 50 LP gas....I remember when we would fill it the flies came, too. I didn't remember until he mentioned it. It was a bear to start in the South Dakota winters if not plugged in. LP gas didn't have the power that gas or diesel had but the cost in those days for fuel wasn't bad. On liquid it would pull better but went thru LP pretty fast.
