Such a shame this hands on car content doesn’t get enough recognition

I just bought me a 56 project, and I will be doing this brake upgrade soon with an LS swap. Thanks for the video!

I went with the Power brake master and booster on the firewall with the swing pedal conversion. Very happy with it! I didn’t want all that stuff up front! I also removed all my heater lines and cores. Mines a summer cruiser now.

Isn't it close to the exhaust? What about mounting it on the fender? What about using a 90 degree angles to help?

Well... that was exciting! At least it wasn't as drama filled as Wes' little adventure!

😯Well, at least you didn't 💋 the steering wheel. I love this channel and I cannot wait to go cruizing with you in the 56' again.

Would it have been easier to install hydro boost to run from the power steering pump. Much better than vacuum. Your cadillac and my Chevy ck 3500 weigh about the same. Like your posting. Gary

My guess on what the knobs on the manifold was optionally meant for, is heat shields.

I wonder if that exhaust manifold being so close to the booster bracket will be a problem during acceleration. An engine wants to twist when under torque. Well done on the brake lines. That looked like a brutal tight space.

I know that some like the patina on the old cars but I wish you would repaint it and make her pretty again. I have an 88 Caddy and it has beautiful paint. I get compliments all the time.

Are you willing to help with the $10k it’ll cost? I don’t see the value in spending that much on cosmetics

neat product to bring the braking system out of the very distant past. 2x👍 I guess putting the booster at the front of the engine bay gave them more space at the firewall, but it does look a bit odd

that knub isnt usually on the 56 exh manifolds, subsequent years had a stud in there. I just went through this with mine and and to refit the original 56 manifold which is "knubless"

When it’s time to replace the pads. How do you know what to order? Or a caliper goes bad? Do you have to order from caddy daddy everytime or does this come with a GM part number? Caliper and pads?

As I remember those Bendix Treadle Vac units don't offer much help for stopping when you lost all vacuum. A friend had a 1958 Lincoln Continental that had the same unit and I remember him having to use the emergency brake to stop the car when the engine quit. The vacuum reservoir was probably a safety thing also they were used for other vacuum operated things like windshield wipers and heater controls and vacuum operated windshield washer pumps.

I have some vintage Cadillac parts on my 39 Pontiac hot rod, particularly the power steering system, soupe to nuts. I bought the parts from a junk yard. I didn't have to rebuild anything, just install the parts. Cadillac power steering, one finger lock to lock while standing still. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g32whJKHqbCUo8k
