A very rare glimpse behind the scenes of early competition as the men take to the ice in Paris to practice and compete the compulsory figures. Of note, the female judge is Mollie Phillips who is also seen talking at length with the legendary coach Arnold Gerschwiler. An interesting anecdote regarding a conversation between Arnold and Mollie over her placement of Alain Giletti over Arnold's pupil, Michael Booker, is related in the Skate Guard blog on this competition:

Finally we see the incomparable Jacqueline Vaudecrane discussing the finer points with eventual winner, five time European champion and 1960 World champion Alain Giletti, and a very young Alain Calmat who went on to win three European and the 1965 World title.
