Wonderful looking boats... you do feel sometimes that 'progress' takes us backwards.

Great footage It makes you aware that we have it so easy now. These crews really had it hard.

What a great film. Note almost all wooden boats, wooden masts, hemp rope, wooden blocks etc. I did my first RORC race in 1959 from Plymouth to La Rochelle in a boat called Bluejacket. The leaking decks was something I remember well.

Samuel pepys. I read of this yacht from 1950s in Adlard Coles, but can not recall the owner. Edit: Located Pepys in Coles (Heavy Weather Sailing), and she was a RNSA 24 (Royal Naval Sailing Association, 24 foot on waterline) club boat, Class III ocean racer. The principle boats in the RNSA class were: Minx of Malham, Blue Disa and Samuel Pepys.

1954? Десять лет, как человечество пережило очередную мировую бойню. Счастливчики, никто из них даже и не догадывается, что будет дальше. Все полнысамых радужных надежд и ожиданий
