Uh, where do I sign up for 1950s service in Japan?

From the pretty faces shown in this film, it is easy to see how many servicemen fell heads over heels in love with Japanese ladies😀🤩

Eating sushi gets the same facial expressions out of me now that it got out of that soldier then.

Interesting to contrast this with the US propaganda films of a decade and change before.

9:28 I don't know if this was changed over time or just a simple mistake, but I suggest NOT tipping in Japan. They see it as something rude.

It's less that it's rude, and more that it's awkward. It's not a part of their culture and especially if there's a language barrier they're not exactly sure why you're giving them extra money or what exactly they should do with it. They're not necessarily offended by it, just a bit perplexed.
