Enjoying these truck vlogs as well, Brian! I have an old ‘65 Mustang that I’ve owned for years and still have a lot of work to do on it. Old classics are definitely a love of mine! Keep up the great work!

Brian you can pick up welding. I'm a cabinet maker. Several years back I started restoring a 69 cougar xr7. But it needed lots of welding to repair it and add parts to. I could not afford to pay a welder to do all the repairs so I put my mind to learning and bought a Lincoln welder. I took some classes. Got certified and now I can do all the welding I need. So if a cabinet maker with absolutely zero knowledge on wielding can do it I know you can do it too!!!! By the way I love your boots and your channel.

Good to see you making progress on the truck. The rivets are difficult to remove since when they are driven in, the shank expands to fill the hole. Makes a very tight, rigid fit since there is no slop like when bolts are used. That front end kit sure makes the job easier. I swapped the front end, engine and trans from a 1977 Plymouth Fury into a '57 Ford pickup. I modified the Ford frame to have 4 pads to accept the Plymouth K member usinghte original bolts. Made a rear trans mount with sockets for the torsion bars. Took out the overload springs in the rear and it had a nice stance.

Your bro has got them skills! I got a 83 Chevy S-10 in my garage, thankfully it doesn't need the work you're doing to your truck since I'm keeping it stock. I just need to get the bed pulled a bit and then paint it. BORED out 2.8 V6, everything else is stock. I would say it's 80% original, since the OG engine had to be replaced.

Be sure to think ahead about the fuel system. You need to locate a fuel cell somewhere in the back and get that tank out of the cab. That is a must do. I have a 69 short bed step side that I remade some years back. I went from the straight 6, 3 speed to a 4 bolt main 350 with a Muncie 4 speed from a Corvette. It runs out nice.

Welding. My father was a welder by trade, now retired. It seemed like alchemy to me! You gotta know the difference between all kinds of steels, what kind of weld is best for what kind of application, how much amperage to push for what kind of wire you use... and so on...
