I had one when I was 18 in 1967...Bought it for $100 w/o an engine. I worked after school for a foreign car repair shop and they found a good engine very reasonably and I drove it for about 1.5 years. It was my affordable Silver Cloud! Of all the British cars I had in high school, including 3 XK120's, for some reason, this was my favorite!

I bought a 1953 Mark 7 in High School, and drove it daily for 7 years. Talk about character! That car had it in spades. The full wood and leather interior was complimented by the big sun roof. The purple dash lights at night set the mood. 100 mph was possible, a speed no contemporary American sedan could match. The biggest design fault was the hopelessly outmatched narrow drum brakes which discouraged rallying. The twin fuel tanks were handy for smuggling, as was the large boot. A pony keg was fitted back there and a hose and a tap run up to the dash. You get the idea. A big, black High School Confidential ride.

Wonderful to see this grand damsel. My father had a Mk7, Mk 7M, Mk8, Mk9, Mk10, 420G, XJ6's...up to Series 3. Marvelous to see this 'blast from the past'. The memories she evokes...wonderful...

My dad had a 420G too. Had a chauffeur style partition in it. I think it was something like only one of 28 made. A beautiful carriage it was.

Very Vertigo! Rare in RHD. Most of these seem to be U.S.-delivered, bucket seat vehicles.

The Americans liked them too. You see one with white wall tyres driving around a lot in the Hitchcock thriller, Vertigo

Hi guys, when posting this video it was not for sale, that is why we added some backround music.

Beautiful! It looks as if it just rolled off the production line. But I wish you had stopped the music half a second before you fired her up. But yeah, I will say it again, beautiful!

auto veramente splendida, peccato per quell'orrendo volante, se paragonato agli splendidi Nardi che ornavano le Lancia Aurelia e Flaminia e le Alfa 1900 e 2000 di quegli anni

Why does there always have to be the noise of someone bashing the shit out of a garbage can in the background?
@denissutherland36533 жыл бұрын
Why the music and no explanation sales pitch, the producers probably think they are clever the music is a jazz version of Besame Mucho ( love me much) I love jazz and these guys playing are doing the standard thing resonably well, but why if someone is interested in buying, the asking price for a start would be handy, RG Classics are probably hard to contact and do they know what they are selling, classic English style and mechanically, there you go I should be on the payroll.

That is not a MKVII, it is a MkXI
@RandolphMaunder3 жыл бұрын
And Iḿ not making it up, I had a 1957 MkVII in 1964 sporting it's original paint. Single colour, no chrome strip on the side, no cutaway on the rear skirts and divided windscreen. The grill is a MkVII one however.
