Mike Phillips discusses the truck and talks about many items that have been done to our 1958 Chevy Apache Pickup - For Sale Right Now!
The body on the truck is very straight. The previous owner had begun to work on restoring the truck and found themselves in need of a more mainstream vehicle.
It appears that the body was removed and the vehicle's frame was restored and re-painted. The previous owner told us that the engine was a "New GM Crate Motor" and they also installed a brand new automatic transmission." The previous owner also told us that they spent over $9,000 in the restoration so far. We do not have documentation to support this, although our inspection leads us to believe this is true. The truck does have a brand new electric fan mounted on the radiator for additional cooling and we have gone through the truck to repair any leaks. We installed a brand new interior. Mechanically the truck is in surprisingly good condition.
The Apache's glass and mirrors are in good condition except the drivers wing vent window does have some bubbling around the edges. The body trim pieces are in good condition and the bumpers are in excellent shape. Overall we believe this is a solid truck for the year and it should make a good daily driver or if you choose complete the restoration by finishing the body and paint work.

305 exhaust manifold??!! Wtf are ya talking about?! Series 1 radiator and series 2 wtf are ya talking about?!

Yes. A 305 exhaust manifold. It's what we had installed. The radiator that was installed in trucks from 1948-1954, was considered a series one. 1955-1959 vehicles would have been considered series two... hence on a 1958, the need for a series two, or the addition of the electric fan. McCloskey Motors, Inc. Still didnt explain what a 305 exhaust manifold is?! About the radiator, that needed a little more explanation then the answer you gave me. The advanced design was 48 to 54. The task force series was late 1955 to 1959.

@@adriantomlin2902 I don't know off hand. At the time this was I believe the second I had helped with. The guy that primarily worked on the mechanical part, and assisted me with the video, at the time of the shooting was a 35 year veteran, certified auto mechanic. He had worked on thousands if not tens of thousands of vehicles, with thousands of them being classic cars. He has since retired.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. That was just how we had received it... it sold within a week of the video. We were more concerned with the functionality and soundness of the vehicle (as a classic). Adding paint would add more significant cost. This way the purchaser could pick whatever color they might like.
