Hard to find the words to describe something so beautiful on wheels. Truly an icon from a time when cars were works of art, and that golden age will never come again.

Nice to see a '58 with air conditioning. My mother had a '58 Buick Roadmaster with most all options, including A/C and air suspension. The only options missing were the power antenna and the Autronic Eye. It had two dimmer switches on the floor, one for the headlights and the other to control the Wonder Bar radio. Remarkable cars.

WE TOOK IT ON LOW TRAFFIC HIGHWAY AT 2 AM AND I THOUGHT I WAS DOING 55 WHEN JUAN TOLD ME TO LOOK AT SPEEDOMETER AND IT REGISTERED AT 105! I SWEAR, IT DID NOT FEEL LIKE 105, THIS WAS A HEAVY 5K CAR! wow that is a stunner. the '58 GM's were the best...every single line. at some point I believe they'll sky rocket in value as there was nothing like them before or since. I have a '58 Fleetwood, but the senior Buicks and Olds had more chrome, which is the whole point to these cars. When I win the lottery, I'll have a '58 Bonneville and a '58 Buick or Olds wagon to park next to the Cadillac.

@@youngexotics2155 Wouldn't these cars be expensive to operate in Europe? They weren't exactly famous for fuel economy.
@beatglauser94443 жыл бұрын
Why the hell people are always talking of fuel economy? I own 4 fullsize GMs of the Sixties. They raise in value and are reliable. You do not use those vehicles as winter beaters. That is what cheap old junkheaps are for. Those cars are amazingly cheap to maintain. Beside bigblock cars I own a 6 cylinder Belair of 1963. It does not consume more gas than a Beetle. The only expensive thing is storage for fullsize cars. It costs more than tax, insurance, gas and maintenance combined.

A/C was a rare option in those days party due to the fact it was so expensive. On a car that was probably $4200 brand new A/C alone was an extra $500 when even stuff like power windows might have been $50

Agree with John Dillinger. Music was nice. Too many scene cuts too fast. I counted about 73 cuts. Some scenes only a second or two long. The eye just starts to focus on the subject and it instantly cuts to the next shot which also may only last a second or two. Some are redundant. Fewer shots that last longer would be my preference. Also; some need to be farther away. I know there was the confines of the garage influencing the shots but the overall effect is negative because too many shots are too close. Pan shots moved to quickly over the car and some were too close.

Until this, I had thought that only Buick had that air suspension. Did Cadillac share it as well? BTW, there's no key signature on either rear fender.
@mrBILL-sr2cu3 жыл бұрын
Air suspension was an option on all five of the GM car lines from Chevrolet to Cadillac. Chevrolet referred to air ride as "Level Air" and I think Oldsmobile called it "Newmatic" ride. Chevrolets so equipped had a Level Air script mounted below the trunk. I think it was the only division to place a call out on cars with the option...
