1958 Pontiac Chieftain 2 Dr Ht Factory Fuel Injected - Restored with Drag Race History!

I've known Tom Wilhite for several years. I grew up on Pontiacs and since we both live in Kansas, our paths have crossed over the years. Tom is the go to guy for Pontiac engine work. Whether you're restoring a Ram Air GTO, a Super Duty Trans Am, or any other old Pontiac, Tom is the guy. If originality isn't you're thing, but going down a dragstrip as quickly as possible with Poncho power, Tom is the guy.
I caught up with Tom at Mecum Kansas City. He has a 1958 Pontiac Chieftain with FACTORY Fuel Injection that he took up to run through the auction. Since I have had a 1958 Chieftain since I was 11 years old, this car really caught my attention!!! Tom was kind enough to take a few minutes with us and show us the car.
This car has an amazing story. Fuel Injection was NOT a very common auction on 1958 Pontiacs and even less popular on the base model Chieftain! This car was delivered new in Kansas and it has KNOWN race history in Kansas!!! This car is stunning and it pretty much checks all of the boxes of an amazing old Pontiac! I saw this car in person and can testify it is perfect. Tom is clearly outstanding in this field. I fear there aren't many younger guys doing these factory restorations, everything has to be "custom" now. 🙄

My Mom and Dad bought a new ‘58 Chieftain and a kid I was delighted to wash and wax it regularly. It was white with a green inset and roof and boy was it fast with that 370 and 4 barrel. Wish I could buy this one. Absolutely stunning
