1959 harley sportster ironhead magneto kickstart

old guy kicking old bike. bike made from swapmeet / junk parts. k, xlch, xlh mix of parts made it into a period custom. even added paint and shiny stuff this time! cold rainy day, needed a few extra kicks to fire up.

My first bike was a 59 xlh which I bought in 1966 for 900.00 bucks. Wish I had it now. Sold it to my then brother in law in Ephrata Pa.

Yeah, less off-axis strain on the shaft and bushings. It's really hard for me that way though.

No battery required. The generator will run the lights, but they will dim a bit at idle.
