As a re-cone hobbyist I hate this crap. you will never be able to get original parts and probably never see the same model. what a waste. rather see him do Sumthing productive instead of trashing grate quality parts. R.I.P. to replicable vintage speakers thanks to this braindead crap that people like to see. just go watch car crashes or pro audio fails. @@ivankirola2707

Glad to see another upload from you, and I can't wait to see the blowouts of the Bose subs, the iMac speakers (going up in flames, that is 😂), and the JBL bluetooth drivers! that old no brand speaker might be and might I don't know yet but I think I found it "Vintage GE 12" Alnico Speaker, Smooth Cone, 3.2 or 4 ohms, 1957-1962, General Electric S1200D" I'm not a speaker nerd but it looks remarkably close to what it is edit: just adding what my last comment was so I can keep everything in one comment to the first part of the video, (wow what a nice old piece of tech to be destroyed still history to see for the future also I'm impressed they work this well)

I realy like vintage speakers, because they have a good sensitivity, and they get loud at 10 - 20W of input power. I have 10" Soviet speakers from 1970's, and the woofers have ALNICO magnets and they could play low frequencies, bellow 40Hz.

Gonna go find my favourites and have a great time watching them again. Also, so cool to hear BILY on 60 year old speakers. Wonder if whoever assembled them on that day in the 50s thought they'd be destroyed by some music they couldn't even imagine would exist. PS: I can appreciate and love your meerkat character now I've been turned into a furry since last watching your videos.

That Stromberg Carlson speaker likely came from a vintage console TV, circa early 50s. Thus the transformer mount, as those all-tube sets have a high impedance audio section, so the transformer was needed to drive the speaker with those sets. This particular speaker isn't very desirable with the transformer missing, unfortunately. Would otherwise make for a great option for a vintage radio of the era. Kind of a shame about the Lafayettes being too far gone, but it was entertaining seeing how well they held up to a torture test! They definitely are well built.
