Here in Italy the republic's president, has a Lancia Flaminia "Presidenziale", a 7 seater cabrio version, made in only 4 units and it's still used in some important celebrations. What Lancia made as cars and innovations, makes me sad seeing the present and the recent past.

Thank you for recording this! I've always wondered what it would be like piloting one of these, they're super-rare and I think possibly the best looking of the classic Lancias. I hadn't expected it to quite so "GT". Really interesting.

As a former S1 Fulvia Coupé owner (a '69), I can really appreciate this. I had a similarly huge wood-rimmed steering wheel, and - after careful restoration of the Dunlop disc-brakes (the Flaminia had Dunlops as well), huge stopping-power. All un-assisted of course. And regarding the tacho - mine worked well, but there's always something not working on an Italian dashboard. ;-) My electro-mechanical Jaeger-clock was a pain in the behind to keep running!

The refinement and quality of the Flaminia is easily on par with contemporary Aston Martin cars, and surely way ahead of Jaguars.

The closest I'll probably get to driving or even seeing a Lancia Flaminia is a VW fastback. The style puts you in the right era and it does have a shifter that goes to a rear gearbox. Not really a substitute, I know, but..

He wasn’t quite correct on the model history. Yes the car in the video is what might be referred to as a Series 1 Flaminia Sport and there were indeed 99 made. However what he described as the Series 2 is in fact the Flaminia Super Sports which along with the body style changes also featured the 2.8 litre engine. Between the two there was indeed what might be called a Series 2 Flaminia Sport (344 made) which featured the same tail as the earlier cars, but didn’t have covered headlights….all three models are beautiful. Enjoyed the video.
