Just noticed the rear axle set up.... is that what is referred to as "underslung"

Not sure, but I think under slung is the axle below the Springs....

Disc brakes in 59 was pretty advanced....Looking Good!!!!

Hi Anthony, they had them even earlier starting in 1956...first British based production car with front disk brakes standard.

Hi Kenny, I usually clean the mating machined surfaces with my die grinder with a 220 grit disk fitted. Cheers, Tush

Hi Chef. When I took the callipers off there were 3 shims on the rotor side of the calliper, now that I want to refit the callipers any tricks/advice on how to hold the shims in place whilst putting the callipers and bolts back in?

First question I have are why are the shims there? Are they required? I’ve never seen shims on a TR3A.
