O Santos era um time profissional, ou seja viviam só do futebol, nos anos 50, 60, e 70 era comum muitos jogadores ter 2 profissões, porque não eram todos profissionais, no Botafogo de garrincha tinha alguns jogadores que eram corretores de imóveis, outros tinham alguma atividade fora do futebol, o Pelé era genial, mas jogava contra muitos Times amadores, por isso essa desigualdade técnica. E vendo vídeos antigos, eu noto que o Pelé errava passes simples, e perdia bolas com facilidade...
