I doubt that was ever a funeral Flower Car , more like built as a Elcamio type Cadillac truck, the flower cars never did a nice involved roof like yours and have that stainless steel insert in the bed, this was made for someone with money who wanted a Cadillac truck. This is much nicer than any flower car I have seen online

It's absolutely beautiful... But I'm not sure that it was originally meant as a Flower Car... But as a custom Cowboy Cadillac pickup truck. A coachbuilt Flower Car would have had a stainless steel lift bed insert, on which to display the flowers... And S&S, Superior and other manufacturers who built those Flower Cars didn't build them as elegant looking as this one is done. I wouldn't be surprised if your car was built by Mr. Martin, in conjunction with the famous customizer Gene Winfield because it really does look like his work... He's originally from Oregon. I'd respectfully suggest that you research the possibility, and if it was built by him, you certainly do have something there! This one is built off of a '60 four window sedan, or what was called a Vista Roof car. It truly is beautiful. Only, I'd personally ditch those modern seats and put an original '60 bench seat or a pair of '60 Eldo buckets in it... But that's just a "personal taste" thing. Cheers!

Tops well known as the flat top, looks like a custom to me too, flower cars have that sled looking stainless bed insert

This would be good for a funeral home to use as a flower car

Flower cars and hearses were made from four door sedans not hardtops . The very rear door and the two rear side doors are there on a flower car , they have had the upper window frame cut off of them to allow the stainless steel tonneau cover to sit down over the body , but the lower doors are still there to allow access to the storage area below the tonneau .

Also, it's HEARSE not HEARST. I owned a '66 Bonneville Hearse /Ambulance for 22 years and a lot of people would Hearst and not Hearse. That's clearly a custom.

Are all of these vehicles custom made? Stock? And are the Cadillac Mirage the same thing/difference?

The trim around the windows is stainless steel, not chrome. One way to tell is to put a magnet on it. If it doesn't stick, its stainless.

How in hell can people find a true jewel like that,, it's no way in the world I'd ever get lucky enough to find a smooth ride like that,, I've got about a dozen or so dream cars I'd love to find,, but i haven't been able to find any of them,, i really would love to find an old buick skylark like i used to have, or an old Camero,, i had 1977 Rally Sport Camero,, or a nice clean old Station Wagon...

@Bryant Gill Hiya Bryant- If you really want something in particular , join a few Car Clubs that focus on whatever particular car you're looking for... Believe it or not, you're liable to get a much better deal on a much better car that way... Because other enthusiasts are more willing to pass along their treasures with other true enthusiasts...plus, you'll have the resources of all the rest of your fellow club members at your disposal. Cheers!

@williamdeegan78402 жыл бұрын
I don't think that is a real flower car. More custom than anything. Flower cars were based on 4 door cars. The doors stayed and were used for storage. Also alot had Stainless beds and sides. The body company should have their name on the car . And a body or fender tag under the hood.

Real flowercars were made on the longest commercial chassis, build by coachbuilders. This car is a lot of fun, but most likely build by someone in their garage. Real flowercars were very costly at $13000,- back then. The price of an Eldorado Brougham.

@@classicsurvivor really trippy stuff, the comment came from me, obviously, but I don't remember writing or sending it, honestly. The comment doesn't reflect anything from the video. It's barely audible through out. It is a great video and a bad-ass Cadi and you nailed it.
