This unique and stunning 1960 Chevrolet Impala Nomad Six-Passenger Wagon has only 31,545 original miles. The look of the car is breath-taking and can change quickly with a wheel swap and suspension drop! And this wagon was definitely built for long-distance cruising. It's wonderful to look at, comfortable to be in and amazing to drive.
It was delivered new in Phoenix, Arizona. This special Nomad was discovered several years ago with only 16,000 original miles. It was given fresh, high-quality re-paint in its original Ermine White, the same code 936A found on the cowl tag with the original lacquer door-jamb paint still present and in excellent condition.
Its been treated to a beautifully done, extremely well thought out, high-quality restomod conversion. Previous notable owners include Hall of Fame nominee Joe Gibbs and Nascar President Mike Helton.
This Nomad starts at the turn of the key and roars to life! It runs effortlessly with its crate 383 Stroker and sings with its dual DynoMax® Performance Exhaust setup.
The Ermine white paint is beautifully matched, has a great shine and mirror-like finish. The chrome and stainless are stunning along with the original glass.
The shifting is modern and precise with its 700R4 Automatic with overdrive keeping it running at a low, 1,800-2,000 RPMs at freeway speeds. It has a Modern Billit Front-Runner Pulley System, power disc brakes, power steering and more. Swaybars and a beautifully set up airbag suspension system make for terrific handling. The airbag controls are mounted below on the lower left of the dash giving instant control to each corner.
The interior is mind-blowing. It is completely original and unmolested and still wears the factory installed plastic covers. The floormats are original as well as the carpet. An amazing preservation piece by any standard! The car was equipped with a dealer added FrigiKing air conditioning system when new.
It runs off a modern compressor with all-new components and R134a refrigerant. It a Vintage Chevy Radio system so that you can listen to your iPod while cruisin' in your vintage Nomad. Oil, Voltage, and Temperature gauges have been installed below the A/C system for accurate system monitoring.
The car comes with two full sets of wheels and tires to suit your mood: 18s and 20s for when you want a resto-mod look, and the original steel wheels with wide whites for that pure stock vibe.

Reseach shows 58 they became 4 door wagons. Learn something new almost every day. I prefer the 2 door versions

I love station wagons and this one is very nice. Not that I'm an expert but I'm finding it tough to believe this is a Nomad. Nomads were 2 door wagons as far as I know. Anyone have helpful info on this?

I just replied to another guy here on this. '55-'57 only for the expensive, luxurious 2-door that did not sell in sufficient numbers. The '58-'60 4-doors were still the top-line Chevy wagons, but much more in line (obviously) with the rest of the wagon choices. Even if Chevy had continued it as a 2-door, the '59-'60 didn't lend itself to that body style anyway. The '58 did from the rear tailgate, and the 7 chrome bars.

Only for the '55-'57 model years. '58-'60 are 4-doors as seen here. The 2-doors were designed FOR the '55-'57 model years. They were very beautiful and luxurious which resulted in their not selling in sufficient numbers for profitable sustainability. The name was applied to one of the Chevelle 4-door wagons between 1968-'72, then the name being retired again permanently. If you don't believe me, you're certainly welcome to do your own research to see I'm right.
