That was EPIC!! I knew how GB came up short at the 9 as time expired. Bart Starr needed ONE MORE PLAY and I believe that the Packers win that game. This loss was the advent of the Packers dynasty. Thank you EVER SO MUCH for this legendary upload!!!

Being an Eagles fan who grew up, primarily during the Reid-McNabb era of the 00s and listening to Merrill Reese fill me in over my car speakers, I find this preserved piece of history to be insanely cool! It’s so interesting to hear how different the game is... yet, not exactly either. The intensity, the crowd in the background, the hype of the announcer-I can picture it all, but now with just a grainy, muted color over the broadcast in my head. I listened to part of the game on my way home from work tonight and wondered if this was the same feeling someone’s clean-shaven, suit-fitted dad on their to or from work listening to their car radio felt back 50+ years ago? Awesome. Our Birds, of course! But overall football is just so damn awesome.

Blaine Walsh was a PXP man who was used by NBC for several big games in football & baseball. He was on the Milwaukee Braves broadcast team. He did work Green Bay Packers games on radio. Jack Whitaker was the "voice of the Eagles" on CBS TV. CBS used to assign specific teams to 1 team per year until 1967 when the current system of the #1, 2, 3 etc teams was instated. NFL had the Championship Games because the NFL would bid them out separately from the regular season until CBS got the whole schmear in 1964. NBC TV's team for this game was Ray Scott (Packers CBS voice) & Lindsey Nelson (did Cowboys broadcasts).

Glad to listen to this and realize just how good and smart Jack Whitaker is, also the puritan presentation of Walsh handing off to Whitaker, who gave the scene in solo fashion for all of the first half. Blaine Walsh was no slouch, himself in the second half.

in those days the officials were as big as the players. in the 1930s the old films showed the officials were bigger than the players . Now in the 21ts century the officials are little thin guys who can keep out of the way from the giant players ,

Wow! They had color technology in photography back then.

Actually color photography/film dates back much further. There are color films and photos from 1930s.

Kristen Cohen I know. I was trying to mess with Eagles fans about the last time they won a significant game. On a more serious note, RIP Chuck Bednarik. Last of the 60 minute men.
