The frame was actually cast aluminum alloy. I've never seen a Wards version of the Sabra. Last year I sold a Wards version of the Johnson Laker to a Johnson collector. That's a novel repair to a broken reel foot. You did a nice job on it!

Thank you, Dan. Appreciate the kind words. Thanks also for pointing out that the frame is cast aluminum (rather than cast iron). Cast aluminum makes much more sense! I should have realized that when I saw how easily I could drill through it 😊

I had a sabra 130 b several years ago It did have the oscillation of the spool and as I recall I had a terrible time trying to put it back together They are nice reels but too large for me for my type of fishing They

Yeah, I struggled putting this one back together also. I can imagine the 130B with the oscillation cam was even more challenging. It is a chunky reel. Like you, I prefer smaller, lighter outfits. I just got a 1970s Zebco Omega 113. That thing is the tiniest reel I think I've ever seen. Can't wait to use it.
