Glad you kept it and I am happy you found my video helpful. So many people change them out but they were ahead of their time when they were made and very expensive to make as well. I look forward to getting this on the road having replaced bushings and tightened everything up. Thanks again for the kind words.

I agree, they ride nicely, actually 62 was the last year,of the torsion bars, some 60-2 GMC medium dutys had torsion bars as well as I beam,60-1 Chevy trucks from Half ton to heavy dutys all had independent torsion bars,62 Chevrolet trucks including heavy dutys had torsion bars with the I beams being an option on the M series Chevy tandem rear axles trucks. 1963 for 10-30 series two wheel drives were the first year of the coil spring front suspension, the medium to heavy duty GMC,and Chevrolets went back to the I beams front suspension. By the way , thanks for keeping the T- bar front suspension,it was,and still is a great front suspension.

The torsion bars suspension does have a smoother ride than the 63-66. It seems to float over speed bumps. Where the springs are kind of a bounce. I Have watched a few videos of people removing the torsion bars suspension. I Donno why🤷

The car that I mention in the video was a 1953 Cadillac Series 62 with a Ghia body. It is an amazing car and worth looking up.

Wher did you find the torsion bar bushings? I need some for my 62, had no luck in finding them.

I had a 62 panel with torsion bars. Put new monroe magnim shocks on it. What a great ride. I bought a 1960 panel cause regret selling the 62. Its got torsion bars i plan on reusing them with all new parts and good shocks.

Yes, I enjoy the ride and can't wait to get it on the road with all of the new parts and run it on some curves.

So glad you stressed the C10 had torsion bars. I removed the factory 61 front clip & put on an 84 C10 . Folks are always telling I removed the torsion bars. I patiently try to explain my 61 is a C20 which did not co e with torsion bars. Try as I may it’s often apparent they don’t believe me. Most try to convince me someone had to have removed the factory torsion bars. Geez!

Good to know and thanks for your comment.

Not sure about that. I have seen a Apache 20 with torsion bars. I believe that the Apache Spartan and the Vikings came with torsion bars. I also did a Google search and found out that the Torsion bars suspension was on the bigger trucks too.🤷 The 60-66 4x4 all had leaf springs.

People ditch the torsion bars because they don't understand them. They don't know how to make them work. you can raise or lower the ride height at will with torsion bars. halfwits ditch torsion bars.
